2nd ALARM IN THE DOWNTOWN
4/8/2007 - At 0930, a building assignment was
toned out for 368 High St.  Engine 69-6 pulled
up with heavy fire showing from five different
windows and flames at least 15 feet above the
roof line.  Pottstown 5 (Legnel) took the
command and requested a 2nd alarm as crews
were making good progress opening the roof
and knocking down the bulk of the fire.  Crews
spent some time on overhaul op's due to
extensive damage on the 2nd fl and roof.  Two
firefighters were injured during the incident.
They were treated and released from a local
hospital.  Units cleared about 2 hours later.
4/12/2007 - Today FBI Agent and former
Pottstown Police Officer Barry Lee Bush was
laid to rest in Pottstown.  Thousands of Police
officers and FBI Agents paid their final
respects to Agent Bush, who was shot and
killed in the line of duty.    U.S. Attorney
General Alberto Gonzales, FBI Director Robert
Mueller III, New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine,
former heads of the FBI and law enforcement
officials from all over the country attended the
viewing and funeral service.   Services for
Bush were held at the prestigious Hill School.
FBI AGENT LAID TO REST IN THE BOROUGH
GARAGE FIRE IN THE NORTH END
5/3/07 - At 16:20 Station 69 was alerted to 848 N. Evans Street for a reported fire. When
units arrived they were waved to the correct address of the incident which was 839 N.
Franklin in the rear in the garage. Deputy 69-D reported a working garage fire. Crews
made a quick attack and the fire was extinguished in a matter of minutes. Units were
cleared  by Pottstown 5 at 16:54 hours
MAN STABBED TO DEATH ON KING ST.
5/13/07 - Around 0348 hours, Police and Medical services were alerted to King and
Washington for a stabbing. On arrival, police found a white male laying in the street near a
vehicle with a laceration to the hand.  The stated that he approximately six black males
attempted to rob him. During the incident, he was received lacerations to the hand and
was kicked several times in the head. He was rushed an area trauma center for treatment.
While tending the first subject, police found a subject laying in a pool of blood in an alley
just north of the intersection.   Engine 69-6 was assigned to helicopter duty at the
requested of EMS. While enroute to the LZ, the subject trauma coded and died a short
time later from a stabbing wound.
