BUSY 4TH OF JULY FOR THE GUYS
7/4/2009 - As the morning started off crews assembled for the annual Pottstown 4th of July parade.
During the parade as all the Pottstown fire units have just finished the parade route, County alerted the
department for a Building Fire at the Giant grocery store. Crews remained in service with ventilation for
awhile to get all the smoke out which was cause by a small fire.

When the crew from Quint69 returned to station the company picnic was started. The crew enjoyed a
nice day of BBQing on the grille and stuffing there faces with food with some family members of
firefighters as guests. Once everyone was stuffed after a great meal the crew started station cleanup
and enjoyed a brief momenet of relaxation before Engine6 was due down at Memorial Park for the
fireworks detail. As the guys were down watching the fireworks the duty driver at the station was sitting
on the apron watching the fireworks when a Naked Man ran past the station and up the street chasing a
dog. Several reports to the Police station finally landed the male subject in custody.

As soon as the fireworks were over the parties in the town began, causing the department to respond
to several trash fires and smoke in the area calls. Finally just at the crew at the station was about ready
to call it a nite, EMS was dispatch for a shooting a few blocks away. Which ended up being false call.

Overall it was a great holiday for the town and the department...
